The best way to describe the Stingshield® MozzieCozzie is “A two-piece fine polyester mesh hooded coverall suit that offers people engaged in outdoor activities unparalleled protection from stinging insects such as midges, sand flies, mosquitos, flies and ticks.”

 

The Stingshield® MozzieCozzie provides excellent protection because it is made from strong 15-Denier polyester fabric. 15-Denier fabric is very fine, light, see-through and 100% breathable. Extensive testing of prototype suits during the Queensland summer of 2005/6 showed the following results:

• The suit is extremely effective against small stinging insects such as midges and sand flies, which cannot penetrate the fabric to get at the person underneath.

• It provides excellent protection against larger insects such as mosquitos and black flies due to it’s loose fit.

• The addition of an open-faced hood provides extra protection around the neck and ears when insects are swarming.

• The light and breathable material makes the garment extremely comfortable to wear and very fast-drying after being in the water.

• Test users asserted that the insect proof suit would be their preferred method of personal insect protection above chemical-based insect repellents.

• Sleeping outdoors is much more enjoyable when wearing the suit versus using a mosquito net. Our testers found that the MozzieCozzie provides superior protection against sandflies and midges.
