Nothing is more annoying than pesky, tiny insects that take delight in biting, stinging and harrassing us as we work, wait to catch the big fish, observe wildlife or just enjoy the great outdoors. People who love the outdoors are constantly looking for cheap, easy-to-use, safe and effective protection against insects so they can enjoy their favourite activities in comfort. Usually, our attempts to protect against potentially dangerous biting and stinging insects consist of smoke coils, candles, cumbersome netting and of course, chemical-based personal insect repellents.
Now, there's an effective and affordable alternative following the introduction of our revolutionary product - the StingShield® MozzieCozzie. This innovative insect-proof suit has been specially designed to protect against midge, sand fly and mosquito, but is also effective against fly, tick and other insects.
The StingShield® MozzieCozzie is insect proof clothing that has been designed specifically to provide excellent protection against midges, sand flies and mosquitos by utilising specially manufactured fabric that is tough, breathable and impenetrable to the smallest of stinging insects. Our field tests have shown that this insect proof suit provides almost total protection against midges, sand flies, mosquitos and other stinging insects. This makes it the ideal clothing accessory for fishermen, campers, nature lovers and those of us lucky enough to make a living in the great outdoors. It's strong, breathable and extremely comfortable to wear - in fact, it's so comfortable that most of our product testers even slept in it!
The StingShield® MozzieCozzie mosquito suit is loose-fitting and features a draw-string hood with velcro clip at the chin, elasticised draw-string waist and elasticised wrist and ankle cuffs. The MozzieCozzie is midge-proof, sandfly-proof and mosquito-proof offering people engaged in outdoor activities unparalleled protection from stinging insects.
We currently have suits available in white only. White was was chosen because it is a cool color against the hot Australian summer and it is the least attractive to insects. White is also easy to dye if a different colour is desired.
Necessity - The Mother of Invention!
The StingShield® MozzieCozzie is an insect-proof suit invented by one of the founding partners of Stingshield Products. Andrew is involved in another partnership conducting business in the aquaculture industry in Queensland. As part of their work, Andrew and his mate Dave have to harvest and clean large holding ponds for the fish they breed. Once when they were working at dusk, the midges, sandflies and mosquitoes were swarming around them as usual when Dave suddenly shouted in pure frustration, “I’ll pay anyone a thousand dollars to get these #*@! things off me!”. Dave doesn’t usually use insect repellents because he has sensitive skin and anyway, repellents are pretty ineffective because they wash off so easily in the fish ponds! Andrew couldn't stand seeing his mate in so much distress so he resolved to devise a means of keeping the insects away without the need to use chemical-based repellents. It wasn't much longer before the first StingShield® MozzieCozzie was born. Over the next twelve months, the bug proof clothing was tested and refined until the Stingshield Products team felt it was ready. We're now proud to offer safe, highly effective and comfortable insect-proof clothing as an alternative to insect repellents and cumbersome mosquito netting.
